EPS Workflow is designed around a sophisticated workflow engine that separates tasks associated with filling prescriptions into distinct steps. The system processes prescriptions as far through the workflow process as possible, up to the point where user intervention is required. The right task is dispensed to the right person at the right time—in the right sequence—based on the promised time for the prescription. EPS Workflow also provides for task dispatching and load balancing across the entire chain. This technology allows busy pharmacies to share work with slower pharmacies or call centers to improve the wait time for all stores.

For pharmacies that do not need a fully segmented workflow environment, the RapidFill™ implementation of EPS organizes prescription filling tasks into Data Entry, optional Portable Fill that provides for NDC verification, and Pharmacist Verification. Paperless workflow with biometric identification and approval expedites the prescription filling process. The intuitive system requires very little training and can be implemented without significantly altering current in-store processes.

What’s more, EPS is integrated with the Electronic Healthcare Record and the ePharmacy Web Engine—which facilitates true chain-wide DUR and allows patients to shop at any store in the chain and order prescriptions online 24/7.
